1.20 Bunt Attempt
Any nonswinging movement of the bat intended to tap the ball into play.
Holding the bat in the strike zone is considered a bunt attempt. In order to
take a pitch, the bat must be withdrawn — pulled backward and away from
the ball.
Basic Tournament Rules
Line ups
In Pool Play you may opt to bat your entire line up. If a player is removed for an injury that position in the line up becomes an automatic out one time only. Once your team has advanced to the playoffs each team must bat 9 players or 10 players which would include an EP. The EP may bat anywhere in the line-up.
(Note: USTSA, does not use a DP, Flex or DH)
Courtesy Runners
A courtesy runner may be used at anytime for catcher and/or pitcher. The courtesy
runner can only run once in the same inning and must be a player not in the line-up
If there are not any substitute players, the last batted out would be the courtesy runner
